•A placement in the world’s largest independent diesel engine design and manufacturing company as a material planner, conducting MRP analysis and evaluation. The role involved maintaining the MRP forecasting system, analysing the deviations from the business requirements and reporting the key process deficiencies and the suggested improvements to the management.

•I was responsible for managing the inventory levels, analysing the future demand and supply levels, mitigating risks and maintaining communications with key departments. Responsibility for managing over 2000 different inventory items worth £2m provided me with the experience of working with complicated, multi level tasks and managing the bulky levels of inventory, which gave me the opportunity to apply numerate and analytical skills into practice when dealing with large amounts of information.


•Being able to communicate and maintain professional contact with the major players in the automotive supplier market allowed me to both build a network of contacts within the industry and learn from the most successful individuals leading the sector. I also developed the ability to work under stress and to find solutions to unexpected problems under the pressured deadlines.

•Deep involvement in the production planning and manufacturing processes taking place inside Cummins Darlington Plant allowed me to further understand the organisational side of the complex manufacturing facility and gain experience in various production planning techniques.
