Job Description: As the General Manager, you will be responsible for the effective management of our transportation operations, with a primary focus on overseeing drivers and dispatchers, hiring new drivers, and monitoring profitability. Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth functioning of our services and driving the company’s success.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of drivers and dispatchers to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of services.
- Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding process for new drivers, ensuring alignment with company standards and requirements.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize route planning, minimize costs, and maximize efficiency.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the financial performance of transportation operations.
- Identify opportunities for cost-saving measures and revenue enhancement, and implement appropriate strategies.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, providing leadership, guidance, and support to the team.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Act as a liaison between drivers, dispatchers, management, and clients, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and operational excellence.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in transportation management, with a track record of success in leading teams and achieving operational goals.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to deliver results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools for route optimization, scheduling, and performance tracking.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
