Dispatcher (Step Deck, Dry Van)

Requirements:

• The ideal candidate must be excellent at communication and able to work well under pressure.
• Excellent planning skills, a good sense of judgment, and the ability to prioritize effectively are also essential.
• Flet Bed (Step Deck / Flatbed) — Dry Van dispatch experience required!
• Manage a group of 6−8 drivers on a regular basis.

We can’t teach a dispatcher from zero!

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and oversee daily freight movements while maintaining frequent communication with clients and drivers.
• Utilize load boards and freight platforms such as DAT to book and manage shipments.
• Track freight throughout its lifecycle — from dispatch to final delivery — including setting up loads and entering new clients into the system.
• Proactively address any disruptions to delivery schedules, such as equipment issues, traffic delays, weather conditions, or client-requested changes in pickup/drop-off times or locations.
• Handle reports of freight damage, vehicle incidents, or emergencies, and escalate to the Safety Department for proper handling.
• Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with both customers and drivers to support long-term cooperation.
• Optimize pickup and delivery routes to reduce operational costs and minimize empty miles.
