Project collaboration — Development of VR-based driving lessons

Duration: 3−4 months, 100% (40 hours/week) — extension possible

About the project

We are working on the further development of digital driver training using modern technologies such as gaming steering wheels, VR headsets, and AI-supported content. The goal is to create driving lessons for simulators that enable practical, location-based learning — with a focus on efficiency (it s 60 lessons, each 15 minutes and subdivided in multiple sub-exercises, totalling in 400 Mini-Lessons. For this, we are looking for an experienced, efficient person with a pedagogical background and an affinity for digital tools.

Your tasks

Creation of driving lessons:

1. Your main Target is, based on existing lesson templates, to rework short, didactically sound learning units (3−5 minutes) for digital driver training.
2. The focus is on efficency: you will focus on the most obvious problems in the existing lessons and spend maximum one hour per mini-lesson to re-work it. after you did the lessons, our testers will test these lessons and give feedback.
3. You might also assign lessons to specific regions where the respective traffic challenges occur — using Google Maps, Mapillary, or OpenStreetMap.
4. Communication with Developers: You communicate with the development team about necessary programming functions and simplify existing creation processes.
5. Testing & Evaluation: You test the lessons with a steering wheel and, if necessary, VR headsets — alone or with driving students — and record the sessions.
6. Feedback Integration: You discuss the tests with experienced driving instructors and incorporate their feedback directly into the lessons.

Your Profile

Education & Experience:

1. Educational training (e.g., teaching, adult education, or similar)
2. Experience in teaching or in the didactic preparation of learning content
3. Confident use of digital tools and new technologies

Professional Skills:

• Good English skills
• Typing speed > 300 (you will have to write a lot)
• Very good computer skills (especially Office/Excel, web research, ideally initial experience with AI tools)
• Good driving experience and understanding of traffic
• Willingness to familiarize yourself with new software environments and tools

Personal Characteristics:

• You work efficiently, in a structured manner, and with a clear sense of priorities
• You can empathize with the perspective of student drivers and anticipate learning difficulties
• You use modern tools such as ChatGPT to accelerate research, text creation, or data organization
