Chief Accountant

MCOP Ukraine — an internationally recognized orthotics and prosthetics medical center — is opening a recruitment process for the position of Chief Accountant (Kyiv)

Working mode: Office based

Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Set up accounting for two legal entities incl. process automation

• Oversee general ledger accounting and reconciliation processes

• Ensure proper recording of all financial transactions in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies

• Maintain and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and accounting adjustments

• Monitor the accuracy and completeness of accounting records.

Tax Compliance

• Ensure timely preparation and submission of tax returns and statutory reports.

• Monitor compliance with local tax laws and regulations.

• Coordinate tax audits and inspections.

• Identify tax risks and implement corrective actions where necessary.

Month-End and Year-End Closing

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities

• Ensure all deadlines are met, and reporting requirements are fulfilled. Month should be closed on 4th working day

• Prepare accruals, provisions, and other accounting estimates.

Audit and Controls

• Coordinate external audits

• Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements and financial policies.

• Implement corrective actions based on audit findings and recommendations.

Team Leadership

• Manage, mentor, and develop the accounting team (2 accountants)

• Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.

• Promote continuous improvement and professional development within the department.

Business Support

• Collaborate with Finance, HR, Procurement, and other business functions.

• Participate in finance transformation and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.

• Strong knowledge of local accounting and tax legislation

• Knowledge of IFRS is preferred

• Advanced proficiency in BAF systems

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience

• Experience managing statutory reporting, audits, and tax compliance

• Experience within an international or multinational environment is considered an advantage

• Integrity, professionalism, and commitment to ethical standards

Language Requirements

• Ukrainian: fluent.

• English: Intermediate level (B1)
