Head of Audit Support Team

Our client is an international consulting company based in Kyiv that provides professional services to businesses and audit teams across Germany and other European markets. The company combines international quality standards with the expertise of Ukrainian professionals and supports complex cross-border projects within a global professional services network.

As part of the continued development of its audit services, the company is looking for an experienced Head of Audit Support Team to lead a team of 15−20 professionals and ensure the consistent quality, efficiency, and development of audit support operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop the Audit Support Team of 15−20 professionals.
• Participate in German and European audit engagements as a senior reviewer.
• Coordinate audit support activities across different stages of the external audit process.
• Perform final quality reviews of audit procedures, working papers, and deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with internal methodologies, International Standards on Auditing, and applicable reporting requirements.
• Monitor team performance, workload, productivity, and established KPIs.
• Provide regular feedback, mentoring, and professional development support to team members.
• Maintain effective communication with German audit teams and coordinate cooperation between international and Ukrainian colleagues.
• Identify process gaps and implement improvements aimed at increasing audit quality and operational efficiency.
• Report progress, performance results, and key issues to senior management.
• Contribute to business development and the expansion of the Audit Support Team’s service portfolio.
• Take ownership of the team’s overall output, quality, and efficiency.

Requirements

• More than 5 years of recent experience in external audit within an international or reputable local professional services firm.
• Proven experience leading audit engagements and managing audit teams.
• Strong understanding of the complete external audit cycle and its key stages.
• Practical experience in audit planning, coordination, execution, and final quality review.
• Experience working with IFRS and/or US GAAP and International Standards on Auditing.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or another relevant audit qualification.
• Strong project and people management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a dynamic international environment.
• Fluent English and confidence communicating with international colleagues.
• German language skills would be an advantage but are not required.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience working in a shared services centre or multinational environment would be an advantage.
