The Role:

We’re looking for a Chief Accountant in Ukraine with an entrepreneurial spirit, exceptional financial acumen, and a passion for making a tangible impact. In this role, you’ll lead our accounting operations, ensuring financial clarity and compliance, while driving continuous improvement. Core Responsibilities:

1. Specialized Logistics Expertise: Apply your extensive experience in logistics and freight forwarding to manage financial operations.
2. Audit and Compliance Mastery: Utilize your experience in tax and statutory audits, including Big 4 audits, ensuring financial compliance and reporting accuracy in multiple jurisdictions.
3. International Financial Management: Oversee financial operations with a deep understanding of international tax accounting and reporting standards, ensuring compliance with global financial regulations.
4. Statutory Reporting and Control: Lead monthly and statutory annual closing routines and communicate effectively with auditors. Assure correct day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting practices.
5. Drafting and Updating Accounting and Tax Policies: Regularly review and update accounting and tax policies, ensuring they are in compliance with current regulations.
6. Intercompany Control and Local Tax Reporting: Manage intercompany transactions and controls, and prepare local tax reports, maintaining accuracy and compliance.
7. Effective Communication: Liaise effectively with state bodies and legal consultants to ensure compliance and represent the company’s financial interests.
8. Operational Efficiency: Implement process improvements, ensuring efficient and accurate financial operations.
9. Technology and Innovation: Employ technologies like SAP to enhance operational efficiency and reporting accuracy, reflecting our commitment to continuous evolution.
10. Leadership and Team Development: Develop and mentor the finance team, promoting a culture of learning, diversity, and equal opportunities.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of Ukrainian tax legislation.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
• Proven experience in leading a finance team in a large, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and strong analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Good knowledge of English and proficient Ukrainian, both written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in logistics and freight forwarding financial management.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent.
• Proven track record in audit management, Big 4 experience preferred.
• Proficiency in SAP or other international software.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex, ambiguous situations effectively.
• A track record of problem-solving and creativity in finding new solutions.
